OUTER JOIN: FULL
1809
Introduction to Oracle Database Oracle Tables and Data definition Modifying data Oracle Query and Filter Oracle data types Joining tables Oracle Operators Grouping data Constraints
FULL Outer Join, sometimes called FULL JOIN returns all rows from the left hand table and right hand table. It places NULL where the join condition is not met. It's syntax also same as LEFT/RIGHT join except a keyword FULL.
Syntax
SELECT column_list FROM table1 FULL [OUTER] JOIN table2 ON (conditions);
Let’s examine the statement above in detail:
- First, specify the main table in the FROM clause, table1 in this case.
- Second, specify the joined table in the FULL [OUTER] JOIN clause followed by a conditions. The joined table is Table2 in the above statement.
- Third, It returns all rows from multiple tables where the join condition is met.
